Melanie Gulliver – Treasurer

I completed my chartered accountancy studies in London with Stoy Hayward (as was). Once quaIified, I started as a group accountant for a small plc being promoted to the financial controller’s position and Company Secretary.

I then joined the BBC where I set up systems, processes and controls for the financial information of TV Documentaries, to feed into the larger picture. I moved into the Group Accountant Radio role, where I represented Radio at many senior management meetings, took responsability for consolidated Radio financial figures (budget of £200m), and reported on new developments in business and IT systems in radio (Digital Audio Brodcasting). I then became a TV Special Projects person, helping external consultants pull together a 10 year strategy for the BBC. I continued to work for the BBC on a feelance basis as a business analyst for Radio working on the new commisioning, broadcasting and reporting IT system.

Being freelance allowed me to start to do other things, and since moving my base to the South of France I have run a wine business, and invested in property. I have 2 young children, and enjoy skiing, cycling and travelling.
