Network News – Strategy meeting EuropeanPWN London

The new Advisory Committee for EuropeanPWN London met on September 29th to discuss strategy and future events. Acting President Michelle Brailsford of Jupiter Consulting Group, Francine Beleyi of Nucleus of Change, Kristin Yeatman from the Bank of Scotland, Maura Keene, a chartered accountant/independent consultant and Sabrina Kiefer who works for the Imperial College London met at Davies Wine Bar for a four hour strategy session.

The group began the evening by focusing first on our individual intentions and reasons for wanting to be involved. After agreeing to a set of Operating Principles, we began the hard work of coming up with our strategy.

We looked to build our Strategy utilizing the model below:

Flow = value x leverage

VALUE: What is our value proposition to our various stakeholders?
LEVERAGE: What will we leverage to create more attraction? People? Process? Systems?

After looking at what we thought our stakeholders would find valuable and discussing briefly what people we had access to and how we could leverage the technical platform, we came up with a Draft Programme for 2009.

To get us started, we are planning a Kick Off event with Dr. Ginny Whitelaw who has written the book, Move the Greatness: The Four Essential Energies of a Whole and Balanced Leader.

Programs for “Potential, Pipeline and Power” members

For our “Potential” stakeholder group, a committee plans to look at a workshop on Mentoring as well as setting up the processes to introduce Mentors to Mentees.

Two events are being planned for our Pipeline” stakeholder group; an event on Positive Politics and an event similar to Paris’ Career Booster: Re-Invention”.

“Protecting the Assets You’ve Worked So Hard For” is in the offering for our “Power” stakeholders.

And finally, we plan to hold several events for our Corporate sponsors. One on Cross-Gender Communication and one tied to the Women on Boards research. In addition we are investigating with corporate partners how to run some virtual or web-based programmes for our corporate members who live and work outside of London.

For more information on the program or if you want to be actively involved, contact me (email address Michelle).
