Due to the outstanding growth and success of the European Professional Women’s Network which now has 17 city networks across Europe, the AGM 2009 delegates have decided that it’s time to design a new structure. The new structure will allow the board to better support the future vision as well as create value for key stakeholders, EuropeanPWN members and corporate partners across Europe.
"With 17 dynamic networks and more than 3500 members, opportunities for connecting and sharing across local networks, as well as our goal to continue to drive high impact programmes across all levels of our membership, we have realised the need to identify a structure that responds to our network's needs and expectations," said Mirella Visser, President EuropeanPWN.
"This is an exciting time for the network and we're entering a new phase in the development of our network to a match a bigger and broader vision of how we support the professional progress of women," said Marie-Claude Peyrache, EuropeanPWN Board member and President of the Paris chapter for the past four years.
The AGM was also a great opportunity to exchange experiences and success stories among the different networks throughout different workshops. The two main focus areas were new networks and how to better work with our corporate partners. About the new networks workshop, Michelle Brailsford, President of the London network, commented: "It gave Monica Pesce, VP New Networks and her team good food for thought and ideas for how to support a New President. Getting a board structure in place and motivating and incentivising the volunteers is both the most difficult and most critically important task a President has to undertake when launching, or in my case, re-launching a network"
"We had some great laughs, and also some intense discussions," said Susanne Forsman-Hey, president of the EuropeanPWN Nice - Cote d'Azur, whose board organized the AGM this year, with the generous support of Team Cote d'Azur. She was struck by "the talent, diversity and dedication of our group, which allows us to evolve in constructive and innovative ways."
The Annual General Meeting consolidated EuropeanPWN's vision, objectives and means towards its future, confirming its position as one of the leading women networks in Europe.
