Nadalette La Fonta-Six – VP membership, Paris Board

Manager of IBM Marketing & Communications Talent & Learning Europe/CEEMEA/Latin America WW Talent & Learning profession leader for Brand System and CorporateCitizenship & CorporateAffairs

IBM Corporation Talent Manager for Marketing, Communications and Citizenship, in charge of Europe, Eastern countries and Latin America.

MD: What do you value the most among EuropeanPWN services?

NLF-S: I like the inclusion and diversity that we demonstrate as an organization totally driven by volunteers, by women for women. I like the open mindedness and generosity which we show through the work of the clubs, the mentors, the subcommittees. I appreciate the opportunity given to each of us to meet and interact with so many extraordinary and very professional women.

As I am in charge of the membership approval process, I regularly discover what vibrant lives most of you lead; and your incredible stories! Through reading you online, I am amazed at the richness of women's lives, their determination to use their lives to make a positive contribution to the world and to the future. It is truly a golden opportunity to get to know each other at EuropeanPWN.

MD : Has the network ever helped personally or professionally?

NLF-S: I had never worked in an association before, I have discovered that it is very hard work! Originally I joined the EuropeanPWN Board to support IBM sponsorship.  In fact, EuropeanPWN has been very beneficial to me: it has helped me to see things from different perspectives, to understand different logics and needs from the international corporate world with which I am very familiar; it has forced me to become more flexible in my decision-making ; it has opened my eyes to different aspects of business life and to governance issues, and all of this through exchanges with other members !  I am constantly challenged in my way of thinking and that is what I love the most. So far the EuropeanPWN has not helped me professionally stricto sensu, but it certainly has helped me tremendously in my personal development.

MD : How would you like to see the network evolve?

NLF-S: I think that we are doing quite well already! But it is probably time, with the world changing so rapidly these days, for us, as Women  to rethink our mission in the world, how we want to play our role to make sure that all women "born as an original , will not die as a copy".  Our strength lies in our remaining true to ourselves, authentic, in our retaining our integrity and not accepting the unacceptable. We need to keep investing in our capacity: listening, coaching, managing meaningfully and, last but not least, we need to keep on dreaming and make our dreams come true. No more self- limitations and self-limiting attitudes!

Nadalette holds a Master's degree in NLP; she is also a coach. She has worked for 20 years in communications management in companies such as Renault, Apple, Thomson INC. She is a true believer that in this era of web 2.0, talent programs need to be well communicated. Employees are the principal ambassadors of any brand. Nadalette is married, mother of three : Eleonore and Valentine, 18 ; Antoinette- 14.
