EuropeanPWN – Madrid International Women´s Day Celebration Lunch

International Women’s Day (IWD) is marked on March 8 every year. It is a major day of global celebration for the economic, political and social achievements of women. EPWN Madrid celebrated International Women’s Day this year with a lunch at Olsen, one of the most avant-garde restaurants in Madrid, specialized in nordic cuisine.

More than eighty women professionals accepted our invitation and gathered together at lunch time, in the middle of their busy daily schedules, in order to stop for a while to reflect on how much has already been done to reduce the gender gap and how much is still to be done to eliminate it. All of this without forgetting all those women that in some places around the world are still denied their most basic rights.

Wine & Beauty offered our guests a glass of wine to toast the professional achievements of women worldwide while connecting to other interesting business women during the event. Special time was also dedicated to introducing the Global Summit of Women known as the “Davos for Women”, that this year takes place in Beijing on 20-22th May. Almost fifteen EPWN Spain members are participating this year in this truly unique global gathering of women influencers and opinion leaders from government and business. It was agreed that EPWN Madrid will make an special networking event to present the relevant findings of this Summit in June for those not attending.

Everybody had an excellent time and left inspired by the fact that women from across all continents and all areas of leadership are working together to make a better world for all of us.
