Profile of the month:

Nicole Lopez, Vice President, Corporate Business Planning and Investor Relations, Disneyland Resort Paris

With Meggan Dissly, EuropeanPWN Public Affairs Officer

M.D.: Nicole, You are an active member, currently working on the Marketing & Communications Subcommittee across a number of projects, and you have a challenging day job. What enticed you to join the EuropeanPWN-Paris Network?

N.L.: I wanted to feel more a part of the Paris community, connect with people with whom I believed I would have the most in common and build personal and professional relationships outside of the office. That said, the organization of my choice had to be one where my talents and skills would be put to use most effectively. It is important to me to feel I am contributing to a greater common purpose, which, in the case of the Network, is advancing the cause of professional women.

M.D.: Has EuropeanPWN ever helped you in your career or personal life?

I have worked with Disney for over 15 years and see myself as being in that slice of women whose professional identity has been defined and shaped by their existing career path. Once I had reached the executive level in my company it became clear to me that I wanted to move beyond my existing scope to continue to grow but in a new and engaging direction that would add to my existing professional experience in a complimentary way. I wanted to stretch beyond the parameters of my current function, be exposed to new people, ideas and initiatives. EuropeanPWN is proving to be a great outlet for my personal and professional development.

M.D.: In what ways could EuropeanPWN improve, bringing greater value?

N.L.:  I am convinced that in belonging to an organization you will only get out of it what you put into it. From this perspective I see EuropeanPWN as having a tremendous potential for growth given the depth of talent and resources of the network members. I would encourage all the members of EuropeanPWN to actively engage in the work of this organization, contribute their time and talent, to make an already impressive organization still more effective. Together we can advance the cause of professional women. Ultimately we are benefitting ourselves and the generation that comes after us.
